Sally Flood

I first joined the Basement Writers in 1973 after sending a poem to Chris Searle, who then published it and invited me to join them, from then on my life changed. I met Gladys McGee on that first evening, later on we became the ‘Golden Oldies’ and performed in Cabaret all over the UK.
I now have three books published and am in several anthologies. I am now with Newham Writers who were part of The Federation of Worker Writers & Community Publishers (FWWCP) which was formed in 1975, which is now known as The Fed.

I find the workshops inspirational and the diversity of the writings are fantastic and I have made many friendships along the way. With a pen you are never lonely!
